MALMESBURY BOXING CLUB is hoping to have nine of its own boxers matched when they stage their Dinner Boxing Evening on Saturday at Chippenham’s Olympiad.

Topping the bill will be multi-titled England international Joe Hughes against Welsh champion Dougie Price (Victoria Park), while top junior Sam Jenner will be looking to avenge a recent points defeat when he meets St Alban’s Miley Cash in a return contest.

Middleweight Lewis Edwards takes on Penhill’s Danny Harris and newcomer Joel White can get his career off to a good start when he makes his debut against Broad Plain’s Damien Atwell – also at the middleweight poundage.

Improving lightweight James Bath plans to extend his winning start to the season by overcoming the challenge of Dan Rogers (Broad Plain) to complete the club’s senior line-up.

Among the juniors, Jack Williamson is favourite to reverse a points loss to Walcot’s Robert Walkett.

When they last met Walkett came back strongly in the last two rounds to snatch the points verdict after being on the verge of retirement by his corner as Williamson dominated the opening round.

Exciting prospect Greg Cook should maintain his unbeaten record against Downend’s Kane Smart and an enthralling fight is in prospect as stylish Charlie Austin faces Banbury’s Zubair Zhain.

Another star of the future, Charlie Ferris, makes his debut and will be looking to impress when he meets fellow first-timer Luke Prato from Exeter.
